چکیده

Human is the most significant creature on the earth having various complex biological structures. Skin the foremost and important organ of the body with many different functions is always a center of attraction for medical scientist. Protecting the skin is important. If the skin is unable to function properly, it will affect the entire parts of the body. Pathogens will enter the body cause harm to the internal environment and hence the different systems in our body may not be able to function properly. Thermoregulation due to skin plays an important role to maintain body core temperature. Any disorder in skin causes various disorderly idiosyncrasies. Present study deals with the thermal regulation in human tissues in wounding to healing process. All physiological essential factors responsible for healing are taken into consideration for real case studies. All estimations are based on bio-heat equation associated with bio physical and biochemical reactions. The present study deals with the theoretical model for the estimation of temperature variation in the human peripheral region. The study involves the essential factors responsible for the temperature distribution, the central blood flow, the heat transfer coefficient due to exchange of the temperature between the atmospheric temperatures and human periphery. The effect of the atmospheric temperature has been analyzed theoretically.

Comparison of Healing Effect of Aloe Vera Extract and Silver Sulfadiazine in Burn Injuries in Experimental Rat Model

BACKGROUND Wound healing is widely discussed in the medical literature. This study compared the healing effect of aloe vera extract and silver sulfadiazine in burn injuries in experimental rat model. METHODS Sixteen rats were randomly assigned to one of two groups, each group 8 rats. A deep second-degree burn on the lower back and 3rd degree burn on upper back of each rat were created with a...

Biochemical Methods in Production of Three-Dimensional Scaffolds from Human Skin: A Window in Aesthetic Surgery

BACKGROUND Use of matrix-derived biologic scaffolds has become a treatment of choice in several clinical issues. This study assessed biochemical methods in production of three-dimensional scaffolds from human skin. METHODS Human skin was prepared from circumcisions, washed in phosphate buffer saline (PBS) and kept at -20ºC until use. The skin samples underwent various methods. In group A, Na...

The Role of Human Adult Peripheral and Umbilical Cord Blood Platelet-Rich Plasma on Proliferation and Migration of Human Skin Fibroblasts

BACKGROUND Wound healing is a complex and dynamic process following damage in tissue structures. Due to extensive skin damage caused by burn injuries, this study determined the role of human adult peripheral and umbilical cord blood platelet-rich plasma on proliferation and migration in human skin fibroblasts. METHODS Platelet-rich plasma (5, 10, 15, 20 and 50% PRP) from human umbilica...

Comparison of the thickening of donor skin graft with conventional method (using vaseline gas) and platelet-rich plasma topical application

Background: Healing involves complex processes that are not yet fully known. The wound healing process consists of three stages. In all these stages, normal wound healing requires platelet activation, release of cytokines and growth hormones, and chemotaxis and cell differentiation. Platelets play a key role in homeostasis and wound healing and growth factor production of more than 30 carried o...

A New Mathematical Model to Investigate Drug Treatment on the Overall Process of Wound Healing

The absence of a universally accepted mathematical model for assessment of the effectiveness of drugs in the process of wound healing is one of the problems the health professionals have been faced. In this study, an “empirical” mathematical model is presented to evaluate its reliability from an experimental viewpoint and from a comparative aspect with previous models used to study wound healin...
